AHS Annual Meeting 2007

Some of our members are heading off to enjoy the meeting and the sun...Linda Mendenhall (President) and her husband Jeff, Kate Almy (Awards Chairwoman), and Rachel Ehrlich will be attending the AHS annual meeting. If you are planning on attending, please let us know.

2006 Region 3 Weanling Colt/Gelding Reserve Champion
Diceman by Donnersohn (owned by NAHB member Leslie Peik) and out of EM Diamonette. He is the 2006 USDF Reqion 3 Reserve Champion Colt/Gelding. He finished 6th overall in the USDF HOY standings with scores to 80%. He was undefeated in his Weanling classes. Diceman was bred by Lisa Dworkin of Summterville, FL.

Waterford is currently in training at the Hoya Riding School in preparation for the 70 Day Test. Waterford was prepped by HOF BRUEINING, our Sister Club Facility, for Licensing at Redefin, Germany.
Originally trained and shown by: JOE FOREST, Hortons Farm, Grantham, NH: WATERFORD sf is bred by NAHB member Sue Sheen, Sheen Farm in Salem, Wisconsin and owned by Sharon Chelednik and Cristina Nocito of RED HORSE STABLES/Diamond Spring Stud, Southbury, CT. He was USDF NE GRAND CHAMPION in 2005, as well as USDF HOY, #1

2006 Show Results:
Many NAHBC member turned out some great horses in the NEDA Fall Dressage show. Considered one of the largest dressage show in the country this show includes NEDA sport horse breed show and Cosequin/USDF championships, Region 8 Great American USDF Dressage Chamopinships, FEI CDI and More.

WAKEFIELD by Werbellin o/o Harriet Hill, owned by Maryanne Morris, won the colts 06 class, Reserve Champion Colt, Reserve Young Horse, Champion NE Futurity, Top Colt/Born in the USA, and the USDF GRAND CHAMPION Young Horse Colt, with a score of 81.1%, He was also the AHS High Placing horse of the Show.

SOPHIA LH by Scimitar, owned by Heather Quinn, Ledgmere Hanoverians was GRAND CHAMPION USDF NE Young Horse Filly.

WROSETTA ggf, owned by Rachel Ehrlich was Second in Fillies of 2006.

Back home from Hannoveraner Licensing in Verden
Hof Mendenhall is back from their October trip to Germany. It was great fun going to the licensing and watching all of the beautiful 2.5 year olds strut their stuff. Lauries Crusader xx (pictured at left) was crowned the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year! He is the first non-Hanoverian branded stallion to achieve this honor. What a thrill to get to see this history in the making. We got to see the first 'licensing crop' of many stallions. Belissimo really made a bang with his first crop...very interesting stallion for the future. Many lovely stallions were purchased by people from the US, including one from New Hampshire. Congratulations Kathy Hickerson! We can't wait to see your Sandro Hit/Escudo colt make his way to the states! It was a great time visiting with friends and traveling around to various breeding farms to look at foals, mares and young riding horses.
